Prof. Zhijian Chen

Prof. Zhijian Chen is a renowned biochemist recognized for his groundbreaking discoveries of cGAS and MAVS in the fields of infection and immunity. He holds the George L. MacGregor Distinguished Chair in Biomedical Science and is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, Prof. Chen is also affiliated with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His pioneering work earned him the 2024 Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research.
