Postdoc or Scientist, Biochemistry/Protein Chemistry/Enzymology  

We are now hiring a Ph.D-level biochemist/protein chemist/enzymologist to join our structure biology group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with disease biology, Medichem and HTS project teams for integrated efforts for high quality and high efficiency protein production and protein characterization, structure determination, to provide key insights into protein-function analysis of protein targets and protein-small molecule complexes.
  • Work closely with Data Science and other drug discovery functions for novel drug target identification and validation, and structure-function elucidation through dry and wet lab techniques. 

Main requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in the fields of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Structure Enzymology, Immunology, or any related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of protein biochemistry and biophysics is a must. 
  • Familiar with drug discovery processes in disease areas, including anti-bacterial, anti-viral and oncology is a plus.
  • Experience with molecular modeling, protein structure determination software, such as Phenix, COOT, CCP4, RELION, ability to use common structural visualization tools, including Pymol, for sharing structural information and structure analysis, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in various chromatography protein purification methods and protein characterization techniques. Hands on experiences with CD, DLS, MST and SPR protein analytic methods is a must.
  • Have extensive hands-on experiences in molecular biology techniques, recombinant protein production in various expression systems.  
  • Experience with enzymatic kinetic studies and immunological assay, such as ELISA, is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in structure determination techniques, including x-ray crystallography, Cyro-EM or NMR is preferred. 
  • Have meticulous and rigorous altitude towards foundation of the science hypothesis and proven of hypothesis through carefully designed experiments.
  • Be result-oriented, be able to independently design and execute the research and experimental plans for protein drug target characterization projects.
  • A good team-player, willing to collaborate, actively communicate, eagerly learn new technologies and share knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy large-scale Models and AI Agents tailored for complex biological and pharmaceutical tasks and data analysis.
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary teams to integrate AI technologies with life science research projects.
  • Develop pipelines and systems that utilize AI for predictive modelling and simulation in bioinformatics and drug discovery.
  • Provide expert analysis and interpretation of large-scale data sets from omics data, protein, compound data and other molecular biology aspects.
  • Work closely with data/AI scientists, medicinal chemists, structural biologists, HTS scientist and other functionalities of the institute and collaborative partners.

Main Requirements:

  • Master or PHD. degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields with a record of demonstrated productivity.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in AI applications, particularly with large models and intelligent agents.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages commonly used in data science, with experience in developing on high-performance computing clusters.
  • Experience with distributed systems and frameworks such as Pytorch or similar for training large-scale AI models.
  • Deep knowledge or understanding of biological mechanisms, preferably in the bioinformatics or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • The candidate must have good communication skills to work in a collaborative team environment. Oral and written skills in English are preferred.
  • Scientific integrity is a must, candidate should be professional in maintaining lab notebooks and electronic files.
AI System Engineer, Full Stack  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection and Cleaning: Developing scripts and tools to gather, clean, and process data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Data Management and Database Design: Maintaining and optimizing databases for efficient data storage and access.
  • Frontend Development and Maintenance: Designing and implementing user interfaces to enhance user experience.
  • Backend Development and Maintenance: Developing server-side logic and APIs to ensure system stability and scalability.
  • Network Safety: Utilize different network service and tools to ensure the system environment and data safety.

Main Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby) to develop tools for accurate and complete data gathering and processing.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts with experience in SQL and NoSQL databases for efficient storage and access.
  • Skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js to design user-friendly interfaces.
  • Experience with server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java) and API development to ensure system stability and scalability.
  • Knowledge of network services and security tools to maintain system environment and data safety.
  • Previous experience in a similar role; work experience in a pharmaceutical company is preferred. Strong problem-solving abilities, familiarity with version control systems like Git, and good communication and teamwork skills.
