Director, Regulatory affairs  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies to support the establishment and development of GHDDI’s portfolio and pipeline

  • Provide guidance and advice from regulatory perspective and requirement to project teams from early discovery stage up to human clinical studies

  • Closely communicated with project teams/portfolio manager to discuss and set up action plans to overcome the challenges and issues to meet regulatory requirements in small molecule or biological drug development

  • Work independently and also as a member of GHDDI’s leadership team

  • Effectively communicate (oral and/or written, presentations, and document preparations, etc.) with government regulatory departments/agents (e.g. CDE and FDA), on behalf of GHDDI, in varies drug development stages or meetings such as preclinical, IND enabling, clinical studies and NDA

  • Communicate and work closely and effectively with internal science and operation teams and with BMGF, TBDA, MMV and CARE for drug developments in fields of global health

  • Set up and manage GHDDI’s QA system to meet drug registration and development requirements


Qualifications

  • Master degree or higher in pharmaceutics, pharmacology or a related life-science discipline.

  • A minimum of ten years of working experience as government regulatory agents or regulator leader in pharmaceutical companies (oversea experience is preferred but not required); familiar with the guidance and requirement from CDE, FDA and ICH and their applications for drug development

  • Successful track record of helping small molecule(required) and/or biological drug candidate(s) to reach clinical stages (up to phase 2), preferred in the field of anti-infectious diseases

  • Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese in daily oral and written communications, presentations, and document preparations

  • Deep understanding and intensive experiences in terms of regulatory affair/registration on different stages of drug R&D, including unmet medical needs, target identification and project initiation, hit discovery and identification, hit-to-lead, lead optimization, preclinical study, IND enabling and clinical studies, etc.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications

  • Characterize disease model mouse for genotyping and phenotyping

Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate, Assay Development & Screening  

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will primarily support the assay development and screening capabilities of the HTS Platform, using their scientific and technical skills to develop/optimize assays and carry out screening campaigns for internal projects, collaborations, and services to external customers. Additional support of other areas including cell culture and molecular biology is expected.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop fit for purpose assays in close collaboration with disease biology colleagues.

  • Support all aspects of assay development and screening including assay optimization, validation, and carrying out screening campaigns on automation systems.

  • Test and troubleshoot a variety of assay types, e.g. binding and competition assays, may use techniques such as reporter cell line, FP, AlphaLISA/AlphaScreen, FRET/HTRF based assays and ELISA.

Associate Scientist/Scientist, Assay Development & Screening  

About the Role

Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities:

    The duties of this position will involve supporting and/or leading a multidisciplinary team to develop vaccines for infectious diseases and utilizing in vivo mouse models with in vitro cell-based immunoassays to elucidate mechanism of action of these vaccines. The ideal candidate will have in-depth and hands-on expertise in immunoassays, flow cytometric analysis of immune cells and in utilizing in vivo mouse models. The candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a matrixed environment to design, execute, interpret and communicate studies for one or more projects utilizing good scientific judgment and strong team skills. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team for drug discovery projects in the field of gut health/disease (Initiate/ Plan/Supervise/Lead research projects)

Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry  

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a chemistry project leader to support a drug discovery and development program from target validation to IND, including tool compound discovery, hit-to-lead, lead optimization, preclinical candidate selection, PK/PD studies, IND enabling tox study, and clinical drug candidate selection.

  • Design bioactive and drug-like new chemical entities (NCEs); Create feasible and cost-effective synthetic schemes; Direct CRO to synthesize drug candidates in a timely manner; Deliver high quality drug candidates and achieve program milestones.

  • Synthesize complex bioactive compounds and trouble shoot synthetic organic chemistry problem.

  • Work with internal biology team, computer-aided drug design (CADD) team, and artificial intelligence drug discovery (AIDD) team to build structure activity relationship (SAR) and structure property relationship (SPR) for a medical chemistry library to deliver high quality drug candidates for an druggable oncology or neurological target.

  • Communicate effectively with CRO to execute all chemistry plan in a timely manner.

  • Present research results effectively orally and in writing to internal stakeholders and general scientific community.


Minimum Requirements

  • Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, or related discipline.

  • Lead the medicinal chemistry activities of one or more small-molecule drug discovery projects at target validation, hit to lead or lead optimization stages.

  • Work together with core team members across multiple disciplines to design and implement project strategies for the advancement of projects leading to the identification of high-quality preclinical candidates.

  • Independently design biologically active molecules and conduct SAR studies to meet the project goals; design synthetic routes and lead the internal or external chemistry team in the synthesis and characterization of drug candidates for the projects.

  • Work with computational chemistry group to develop structure-based target molecules for projects.

  • Proactively communicate project strategy, critical issues and recommendations to enable appropriate resource decisions.

  • Provide supervision, scientific mentorship and technical training of the team members.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ph.D. in chemistry or related discipline.

  • A minimum of five years of experience in medicinal chemistry required; candidates with demonstrable hands-on small molecule drug discovery and pre-clinical development experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry highly desired.

  • Strong track record of individual and team-level contributions to the discovery and pre-clinical development of small molecule clinical candidates supported with high impact publications, oral presentations and patent applications.

  • Excellent background and expertise in organic chemistry with a high level of synthetic skill including novel route design is essential.

  • Demonstrated project leadership experience in leading all stages of small molecule drug discovery with the ability to define strategy and critical decision making.

Investigator and above, Microbiologist and Project Lead  

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead drug development team/projects of anti-TB and other infectious disease areas in discovery to preclinical stages to reach critical G0/NoGo decisions, milestones and deliverable goals

  • Participate and play a key role in disease biology for strategy and plan set up, collaboration with global partners, and evaluation of external opportunities

  • Work closely with medicinal chemistry, structural biology, and DMPK teams to identify and promote promising hits through discovery and development stages.

Minimum Requirements

Open Rank Scientist, Infectious Disease  

Key Responsibilities

  • The duties of this position will involve supporting and/or leading a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative therapeutic drugs for infectious diseases such viral infections caused by HBV, DENV and ZIKV, SARS-CoV-2, et al.

Senior Scientist, Cell Biology  

Key Responsibilities

    As a senior biologist, you will play key roles in target evaluation/validation, hit identification, hit validation and MOA studies in drug discovery process. Your responsibilities include, but not limit to the following:

  • Apply biology and cellular pharmacology knowledge and skills to design and execute biochemical and in vitro cellular experiments involving the evaluation of small molecule modulators.
